separate beds
A Free Verse poem
hairs gathered under the pillow i donβt use every time i find a stray we stayed on our own sides by choice one rambunctious, the other greedy
i do not need to have you here forever memories will torment enough and you can tough out a Siamese split but just please sit still, or remain where you are
we knew it wouldnβt be far, carried voices my scaly feet and light snores you keeping score unnecessarily so it can be vomited back up later
the pitter patter of failing hearts, unborn children now on hold with you out in the frozen having chosen a richer bed and refusing to be perennial

βi do not need to have you here forever
memories will torment enoughβ incredible
